Maybe Forever

This piece is in response to Shelly Kagan’s Immortality reading. The reading focused on the pros and cons of immortality, ultimately concluding that immortality should be undesirable. My piece draws on Kagan’s ideas, but refutes the overall argument by presenting love as a motivation for seeking and desiring immortality. Kagan mentions various, conflicting ideologies, but fails to mention that a person always seeks love and may choose to love forever.

Research Proposal

During my undergrad, I took a technical writing course in which we had to write a research proposal as the final project. At the time, I was also working on research for a grant, and decided to combine both projects. Therefore, I came up with this research proposal which focuses on the writing discipline in the engineering classroom. This project covers all aspects of a proposal, from letter of intent to final recommendations.

Online Dating, Real Life Settling

In this project I compare the hook-up culture affecting millennials and Gen Z in the United States and the Netherlands. Research was gathered from scholarly sources, my own observations traveling to Amsterdam, and living in Chicago. What began as a cultural comparison built up to the conclusion of the unsettling future plagued by technology.
